So Tired

Jack's schedule is really wacky these days. He doesn't really have a sleep regimen (thanks to difficulty with naps) and thus ends up being a very early riser sometimes. On the weekends we alternate who gets up early. Guess whose turn it was this morning?

Hot Day In Buffalo

I know I already posted today but check this out--keep your eyes peeled:

BTW, Jack was there but he was covered in ice cream cone and more amused with the boats.

Garage Sale

We had our long anticipated garage sale this past weekend. It was good enough but I think in hindsight, I could have advertised better. Here is a summary of things I gleaned from our sale:

PROS of Garage Sale
-Made some extra money
-Cleared away clutter
-Got organized
-Spent a couple days outdoors in the beautiful weather
-Met some neighbors finally

CONS of Garage Sale
-Didn't make enough extra money to buy my refrigerator
-Investment did not equal rewards
-Had to witness some shady characters - ie, the woman who left the sale and handed her daughter 20 cents to give me for a GI Joe when they were clearly marked $2 (how could I deny her?) or the woman who changed stickers on my eddie bauer shower curtain to spare herself two bucks.
-Met some neighbors finally (just kidding, everyone was for the most part really nice)

I'm glad it is over! Now I have to sell the remaining stuff on ebay/craigslist. I'm determined. Dave was such a good sport. I can't tell you how many marathon conversations he had with various peoples. The best was when he was trying to talk some neighborhood kids out of buying a toaster oven for their clubhouse. "Are you sure there's electricity? You don't want anything else here? Well, if you need to come back in a few minutes to return this that's no problem at all." My mom was also a big help, especially watching Jack. In the end I couldn't part with the Dick Tracy figures or the beat up Fisher Price radio my dad has spent so many hours listening to. Jack was intrigued with the Dick Tracy figures. I can't believe those didn't sell!!!!!

I Looooooove Babies

I don't think Jack has really grasped the concept that a baby will soon be entering his world. We've tried to tell him but it's just not tangible right now. The other day I asked him, "Jack do you like babies?" He answered right away, "I YUV babies." First of all he said an actual sentence. Secondly, he said it with great inflection. I don't think Dave or I have ever said something like that. We had a good laugh. I asked him again this morning and caught it on tape--it's not as enthusiastic but still, pretty entertaining!

Jack and B.Pa

Jack says "Grandpa" like "B-Pa." When my dad was here the other day Jack kept grabbing his nose and laughing hysterically. He was also intrigued by his watch.

Aunt B Visits

Jack is definitely advancing because he now can say "Bidgit" when referring to his aunt. Of course when we were working on her name he said "Bidgit" a few times and then started saying "Ribbit" like a frog. He had fun playing with Bridge--he basically just wanted to sit on her. On a separate note, is it me, or is his head nearly the same size as hers?!

Bridal Shower!

On Saturday I helped host a bridal shower for Nicole. It was a great time and everything turned out lovely. As always, Nicole made us laugh. She received some beautiful things and promised when she opened a spatula/cookie sheet combination that she's improved and no longer flips her cookies. Phew.

Congrats Mrs. Wonger Matheson (that's what we've taken to calling her). We can't wait for the wedding. It will be a wonderful day. On with the kilts!

Still Crazy After All These Years...

On Saturday David and I celebrated our five year anniversary! In many ways the time has flown by and yet, it's hard to believe how much has changed since 2003. We moved, got jobs, found apartments, changed apartments, bought a car, sold a car, tackled law school, bought a dog, bought a house, had a beautiful baby and now have another beautiful baby on the way! It's been a wild ride. I am both blessed and honored to have such a wonderful partner. David, you're the "Dyson" of husbands (inside joke). I love you. Thank you for all you do!

Jack and Joanie

Joanie and Ann visited this past week. It was nice to spend time with them. Jack loved hanging out with Joanie. He actually says her name and it's the first person I've ever heard him call directly by name. When I was trying to put him down for a nap the other day he started crying, "Joanie!!!" We'll miss you!

Our Growing Family

Here's a few pics Dave took the other day. Truthfully these are probably good pics--because I think I look bigger than this! Jack's getting big too. He's getting tall!

(Pic quality isn't the greatest but you get the idea. Jack's closing his eyes in the second pic taking after his Aunt "B" and in the last one his eyes are as red as his shirt. Oh well!)

Bills Brownie Blitz

My mom, Ann and Joanie came to visit yesterday! It was so good to see them. In honor of them being here we had to celebrate with some special ice cream. Maybe we can fedex you some Kev. For those of you who can, go out and buy some Brownie Blitz. It's sooo good (plus Perry's is a local business).

Ode to Curls

When I look at Jack I can definitely see traits that he has inherited from both of us. There's no question he looks like his dad. He has his mouth, dimple and build. I think he has my nose (haha, Tracy nose) and sometimes I see a similarity in our eyes. As I've looked at some old pictures I've definitely noticed resemblances to both our brothers too. There was a picture of Kevin that I saw recently and if I looked from far away I would have thought it was Jack. Similarly yesterday I was organizing some pics that were in a kitchen drawer. I came across the picture of Matt and looked up at Jack. It was so weird! Their hair was exactly the same!! Just yesterday I was out and some woman stopped me and said she loved Jack's hair. As she said this I looked down at him and his hair was just a mop of sweaty curls. I laughed and thanked her and told her, "I swear we do brush it from time to time."

The color may be a little different but other than that, check it out:
