I had no idea it would start this early. Lily loves shoes. I mean, she really loves them. When she wakes up in the morning the first thing she says is , "Shoes on!" She picks shoes up all around the house and exclaims, "pretty shoes!" And lately when I put her down for a nap I return to find her with new footwear...usually her brother's. Yesterday it was a saddle shoe and a sneaker. At any rate, I picked up a dress-up kit at Marshall's a while back and gave it to her. Check it out. Oh, and the shoe shirt is from Aunt Nicole. A girl has to keep her ensemble coordinated.

Counting Our Blessings

My mom's surgery went well and she is feeling better every day. Jack and Lily have been taking good care of Grandma. Jack reads (and yes, really reads) to Grandma and Lily sings. I think that must be some of the best medicine. It was so great having Ann and Joanie here to help out...and Bridge and Brian. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, notes, cards, flowers and gifts. It means so much to know people are thinking of you when you're going through a stressful time.

More good medicine is on the way for my mom since that little charmer in the picture above is headed to Rochester in another week...oh, and it will be good to see his parents too (haha).

Playmates

Nothing makes me happier than watching our children play together. I love how Lily mimics her brother and wants to be involved with whatever he is doing. Whether it's building trains or reading or playing with Big Dog and Teddy, it's all the more special when they do it together. She's the Biden to his Obama.

I'll give you three guesses who gave Lily her headgear in this picture. Ok, so I guess I have yet to see Joe Biden walking around with a plastic tote on his head...give it time.

A Sunny Afternoon

My dad, Aunt Margaret, Nicole and Colin all stopped by last week before the Tracy's headed back to North Carolina. We had a nice lunch and fun afternoon with the kids.

This wagon has provided countless hours of entertainment!

I think it was my aunt who said Colin looked like Spanky from the Little Rascals. He's got a pinecone in his mouth here but at first glance it looked like a stogie.

Of course there are no pictures of me or Nicole. I tried to take a couple of Nicole with the kids but the sun glared the pics. Blast. Note to self: need to take a class on digital photography soon. Anyway, I'm glad everyone was able to stop by. Ooh, and they actually got to sit on a couch this time as opposed to a deflated bean bag chair. Movin' on up!

Lily found a book and brought it to Chris. She then parked herself down in front of him and waited for him to read it. Leah also wanted in on the action.

The funny thing is that the book was titled "Money Money Honey Bunny"-- appropriate for Chris considering what he does for a living. "And then Honey Bunny's daddy stressed the importance of diversifying one's portfolio amidst a rocky economic climate."

"Lily, let's get one thing straight. He's my dad. From here on out, I pick the books."
