Fun in the Sun

When Toni and Dave were here we all walked into the village. There was some type of Pittsford celebration going on that had free rides and games for the kids. I only got a few pictures because I was partaking in the merriment.

Is there really any better way to spend a sunny afternoon then riding down a slide on a burlap sack while the people you love cheer you on? Nope.

Not to be outdone by her big brother...Lily had to plead with her father to get him on the ride. (It's just like how David has to plead with me sometimes to go to Starbucks.)

Two happy, tired and full little Archers. I'd like to mention that the ice cream cone Lily is eating was actually mine. We had ordered her another flavor but she threw a fit when she saw my cone. The girl apparently likes chocolate. I ate her cone. All was right in the universe again.

Cousin Get Together

I'm all over the place with these blog posts. I hadn't uploaded pictures in some time!

D'oh!

IMG_5805

I just realized that our kitchen wallpaper looks eerily similar to the funky 80's background graphics they used to use in our school pictures. Does anyone want to come to our house and have me take a portrait?

Kind of blurry but I love how they are all playing together.

Four Years Old!

I can't believe our baby boy is four today. I still vividly remember the day he was born and the moment he was handed to me. That bond grows stronger with every minute that passes by. I love watching Jack grow and especially feel grateful that I get to watch him with his sister now. He ran into our bedroom this morning and said, "Is it my birthday today?!" Then he sat on our bed watching the news and said, "How many do I have to be to play football?" The answer is 45. Haha. Happy birthday bud.

Today is a special day because Jack shares his birthday with his aunt. Here they are with Kate on Jack's first day of school. He wanted to go to "St. JOAN Fisher" with Kate but he seemed to be ok with the preschool setup once we were there. Happy birthday Kate. Sounds like it will be an exciting year ahead for you!

A Day on The Canal

One of the things I love most about living in Pittsford is our proximity to the Erie Canal. I swear in a former life I must have lived right on the canal...or maybe I helped dig it. Either way, it is such a beautiful, historical waterway. There are so many great towns and villages that are located right on the Erie Canal too. I can't wait to get some pictures when the leaves start changing.

There is always something to do at the canal. Jack loves to feed the ducks.

And pigeons. Does this picture make you squeamish or is it just me?

The canal is a great place to sit and clear your head

It's also a perfect spot to try out your new rain boots (thanks Daniels family)

Move over Sarah Richardson...

This was Lily's room before we pulled the lovely mauve rug up. Unfortunately I didn't get any shots before David painted.

And this is the end result!
IMG_5747
The old "pinecone" bed that was used by dad, and then my brother, and then Jack and now Lily. I painted it white and it's a wonder what many coats of white paint will do.

Voila.

We recycled alot of things...remember those curtains from our dining room?

More to come!

Wishing you a sweet, simple Friday

Happy birthday to two of our favorite ladies!!

Happy birthday Auntie Ann and Joanie. We love you both so much and were so grateful to have you visit a few weeks ago. The kids love Joanie and Honey. I think Joanie has a long career ahead of her as a babysitter. As you can see in the pictures, she was so great with Jack and Lily. We hope you have a fabulous day and even more spectacular year. You deserve it! XOXO

Early morning fun!

Putting the "Play" in the Museum of Play

Thanks to David, we were able to visit the Museum of Play yesterday for free! Once a year the firm has a free admission month for employees. We took the kids and let them run around for a bit and they had a ball. It's fun watching them interact as they get older. Lily hovers over Colin like he's her personal doll. Jack also tends to his little cousin. All three had fun visiting Sesame Street, riding the train and shopping in Wegmans. I think we had another kid with us yesterday too...

Poor Lily took a fall the other day and hurt her nose.
She's still fearless and loved riding the horses.

Colin LOVED the train ride. He kept waving to us every time they circled the track. The train ride went on and on and on. They really want you to get your dollar's worth of ride. Kevin asked the "conductor" if they were headed to Albany.

I think Kevin and Nicole have secretly been working with Colin on posing for the camera.
