BTW, Jack was there but he was covered in ice cream cone and more amused with the boats.

Garage Sale
We had our long anticipated garage sale this past weekend. It was good enough but I think in hindsight, I could have advertised better. Here is a summary of things I gleaned from our sale:
PROS of Garage Sale
-Made some extra money
-Cleared away clutter
-Got organized
-Spent a couple days outdoors in the beautiful weather
-Met some neighbors finally
CONS of Garage Sale
-Didn't make enough extra money to buy my refrigerator
-Investment did not equal rewards
-Had to witness some shady characters - ie, the woman who left the sale and handed her daughter 20 cents to give me for a GI Joe when they were clearly marked $2 (how could I deny her?) or the woman who changed stickers on my eddie bauer shower curtain to spare herself two bucks.
-Met some neighbors finally (just kidding, everyone was for the most part really nice)
I'm glad it is over! Now I have to sell the remaining stuff on ebay/craigslist. I'm determined. Dave was such a good sport. I can't tell you how many marathon conversations he had with various peoples. The best was when he was trying to talk some neighborhood kids out of buying a toaster oven for their clubhouse. "Are you sure there's electricity? You don't want anything else here? Well, if you need to come back in a few minutes to return this that's no problem at all." My mom was also a big help, especially watching Jack. In the end I couldn't part with the Dick Tracy figures or the beat up Fisher Price radio my dad has spent so many hours listening to. Jack was intrigued with the Dick Tracy figures. I can't believe those didn't sell!!!!!

I Looooooove Babies
I don't think Jack has really grasped the concept that a baby will soon be entering his world. We've tried to tell him but it's just not tangible right now. The other day I asked him, "Jack do you like babies?" He answered right away, "I YUV babies." First of all he said an actual sentence. Secondly, he said it with great inflection. I don't think Dave or I have ever said something like that. We had a good laugh. I asked him again this morning and caught it on tape--it's not as enthusiastic but still, pretty entertaining!

Aunt B Visits
Jack is definitely advancing because he now can say "Bidgit" when referring to his aunt. Of course when we were working on her name he said "Bidgit" a few times and then started saying "Ribbit" like a frog. He had fun playing with Bridge--he basically just wanted to sit on her. On a separate note, is it me, or is his head nearly the same size as hers?!
