Yesterday Bridget found out she made Senior AOA! For those of us who are not in Medical School this means she was selected to be in the National Honor Society for Medical Students--Alpha Omega Alpha. This is quite an honor. The info below describes the process a little more in depth. I'm a proud sister. It seems like just yesterday she was refusing to take off that Annie dress. We've always known what a talent she is but it's nice to know that others are recognizing it too! Congratulations. You've come a long way!

In order to meet the minimum requirements of the national society, students must be in the top 15% of their class academically, and possess leadership and community service attributes. Academic activities such as research, performance in clerkships and electives and extracurricular program participation are generally included in
the selection criteria. No more than one-sixth of a medical school's graduating class can become members of AOA. As the years have gone by, membership in AOA has become highly sought after.
"Words are easy, AOA is the premier academic and now socially conscious group award in US Medical schools, which reflects effort throughout the 4 year period." Dr. Mark B. Edelstein, M.D., Ph.D., AOA Councilor
"Because it is found in most schools, AOA is the best-recognized medical school award. Students elected to the honorary are generally assured of serious consideration by residency programs. This means that many will get most of the interviews they desire. After that it will, of course, be up to them to do well in these interviews." Dr. Kenneth V. Iserson, M.D., MBA

Congrats Bridget!!!! That is such fabulous news!!!
Wow- what an accomplishment! Like you said- those who know her know her greatness!
I LOVE that picture...priceless!
What a great picture. My sister Mary had that same Annie dress and a big, ol' permed fro to go with it.
Hooray for Bridget! If I were there right now, I would get down on one knee, throw my hands up in the air, and shout, "Superstar!"
Thanks for all the support guys!
